Actor
Sreejita de Blohm-Pape who was in Goa over the
weekend, to celebrate her husband Michael’s birthday, took some time out for a chat with Goa Times.
“We are very casual people. Sometimes, we like to have a nice candlelit dinner at a restaurant but planning and execution of these dates creates a lot of pressure and expectations from each other,” says Sreejita De Blohm-Pape who was relaxing with her husband Michael Blohm-Pape at a beach shack in
Palolem. “We are very basic and spontaneous people. For us it’s all about the moment and being with each other. Just look where we are sitting,” she adds.

Sreejita tied the knot with Michael in a white church wedding in Germany on July 1 this year. The couple are in plans for an Indian wedding in Goa, however, from the earlier November date they have pushed it to early next year. Sreejita adds, “We wanted to settle into our married life and didn’t want the stress of planning another long wedding. We plan to have a traditional Bengali wedding, which will also have a mehndi ritual,” says Sreejita.
Were locked down in Goa from March to October

The couple has had a great connection with Goa, and thus it is their wedding venue. They were here on a vacation, but on the day they were to return to Mumbai, the COVID lockdown was announced.
However, Sreejita says it was for the best. “Initially we were zapped, but soon realised how lucky we were to get locked down in Goa. We came here in March and we left only in October. We rented a house here and saw the real Goa. For four days, we didn’t hear a single car horn. That was peace. We are beach bums , so we loved it here.” Michael adds, “It’s a good contrast to city life. Mumbai is very fast and Goa slows you down a bit. In Mumbai, you are always running. Here everyone is just peaceful, laidback, content and that is infectious.”

Post marriage, Sreejita says she feels like a typical wife now. “I keep telling him to keep things in place, keep the house tidy,” says the actor. Michael was quick to add, “She full-on, a housewife now. She was like this even before we got married, but now it’s a notch higher. She cooks too much, things are in place but our emotional connection has grown stronger.” and Sreejita continues, “Mera walla jo feel atta hai, ki he is now mine; that feeling has intensified after marriage,” says Sreejita.
Ask her about her plans for her career after marriage, and she is quick to respond, “I think marriage and career go hand in hand, if you find the right partner. You can grow both personally and professionally. I don’t see any issues arising between the two things,” says Sreejita.
So, has she learnt German? “I haven’t learnt German yet, but I do understand and gauge what the other person is trying to say. I understand around 15% of German. He has to be a little more careful before talking bad about me to his family,” says Sreejita with a cheeky smile.
